THE HEAT CAPACITIES OF LIQUIDS IN THE SYSTEM CaSiO3 -Ca2Al2SiO7 -CaAl2Si2O8

I. Nerád, L. Kosa, K. Adamkovičová, I. Proks, J. Strečko

The composition dependencies of molar heat capacity, molar heat capacity of mixing, partial molar heat capacity for constituents and partial molar heat capacity of mixing for constituents of liquids in the CaSiO3 - Ca2Al2SiO7 - CaAl2Si2O8 system were determined from experimental relative enthalpy data. The heat capacity values related to one atom of a formula molecule in these liquids exceeds the 3R-value by about 5 to 16 J/mol K. The largest changes in the number and/or kind of degrees of freedom of particles in the melt arise when the liquid of Ca2Al2SiO7 or CaAl2Si2O8 is added to large amount of CaSiO3 liquid and when the liquid of CaSiO3 or supercooled liquid of Al2O3 is added to large amounts of Ca2Al2SiO7 or CaAl2Si2O8 liquids.
