BLENDED GYPSUM BINDER WITH HYDRAULIC PROPERTIES

Š. Klimešová, F. Škvára

Blended gypsum binder comprising b -CaSO4.1/2H2O and small proportions of a mixture of Portland cement and ground fly ash, or ground blast-furnace slag, is a binding agent with distinct hydraulic properties which shows strength increments also when cured in water. The hydraulic features of the blended gypsum binder are due to formation of less soluble ettringite-type phases and the C-S-H phase on the surface of gypsum crystals.
