Viscosity was measured of basalt glasses of industrially fused olivinic basalts (Slapany and Nová Baňa) on the penetration viscometer in the temperature range 660–780 °C using time dwells of 20, 40, 60, 120, 180, 240, 300 and 360 min. The viscosity values were found to vary from 108 up to over 10¹² dPas. The course of viscosity curves contributed to better understanding of the complex course of nucleation in basalt glasses.
