Methods for the determination of the textural characteristics of microporous (mean pore diameter
d ˂ 7.5 nm) and macroporous (d ˃ 7.5 nm) glasses by nitrogen adsorption and mercury porosimetry were examined. The results obtained were compared and the practical scope and limitations of the two methods determined. With macroporous glasses, the results were significantly affected by the input material constants employed, and also in the case of very fine particles. |
