THE EFFECT OF PLASMA SPRAYING TECHNOLOGY ON THERMAL DIFFUSIVITY OF Al₂O₃ COATINGS

The results of measuring the thermal diffusivity of plasma-sprayed Al₂O₃ coatings are given in terms of the parameters of their preparation. The coatings were applied by means of the PAL 160 apparatus. Corundum of two grain sizes was used in the experiments. With both types of coatings, the thermal diffusivity decreased with increasing distance of the burner face from the object being coated.
