The paper presents the study of the crystallization influence on the basicity in the Li₂O · 2SiO₂ glass. The quantitative methods were used for the basicity determination of the oxide glasses. The Li₂O–2SiO₂ samples were thermally treated at 560°C, for 20, 30, 55, 95 minutes in presence and in absence of Cu²⁺ as indicator. The experimental results showed that when the crystallinity degree increases, the wavenumber of the Cu²⁺ absorption decreases corresponding to a higher basicity of samples. It was observed an increasing of the maximum diameter of crystallites and a decreasing of the crystallization speed with the extension of the thermal treatment time at 560°C.
