VOLATILIZATION OF LEAD GLASSES WITHIN THE 1200 TO 1400 °C TEMPERATURE RANGE

Volatilization was studied of two lead glasses containing approx. 19.6 and 24 % by wt. PbO respectively, The time dependences of loss in weight due to volatilization were used for determining the kinetic constants of the process (diffusion coefficient D, rate constant α) and their dependence on temperature was established. The results obtained allow to draw certain conclusions with respect to the volatilization of the glasses studied.
